Declaration of Faith
God and the Word
We believe in the authoritative Word of the one true God, who was eternally revealed in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit as one being. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and the Father of Jesus Christ. We believe that in the beginning, the Word was already here. The Word was with God, and the Word is God. We believe that all things are created from this one sovereign God. (John 1:1-2; John 10:30)
We believe that the original Word of God is the complete and final authority for faith and practice. God is everlasting (Psalm 90:2), limitless (1 Timothy 1:17), and supreme (Psalm 93:1). God is all-seeing (Psalm 139:1-6), universal (Psalm 139:7-13), all-powerful (Revelation 19:6), and unchanging (Malachi 3:6). God is holy (Isaiah 6:3), just (Deuteronomy 32:4), and righteous (Exodus 9:27). God is love (1 John 4:8), gracious (Ephesians 2:8), merciful (1 Peter 1:3), and good (Romans 8:28).
Jesus Christ
We believe Christ is God incarnate, God in human form, the communicated image of the Father, who, became man in order that He might demonstrate who God is and provide the means of salvation for humanity. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for all humanity as a sacrifice for our sins. We believe that Life was in him, and that life was the light for all people. The light shines in the darkness. But the darkness has not understood it. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ’s birth, sinless life, death and resurrection. We believe that He is in heaven and sits at the right hand of our Heavenly Father. We believe that He died for our sins so that we can live free. We believe that He is the ultimate attorney mediating on our behalf to the one true Judge. We believe that the Word became a human being. He made his home with us. He came from the Father and he was full of grace and truth. (Matthew 1:21-23; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; Isaiah 14; Isaiah 53:5-6; John 1:14-15; John 1:4-5; John 1:18; 1 John 2:2)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the deity and nature of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme agent by whom Christ baptizes all believers and the seal by whom the Heavenly Father guarantees the salvation of believers. It is the Divine Teacher who enlightens believers’ hearts and minds as they study the Word of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit lives in us, enabling us to live as citizens in the Kingdom of God. We believe that all believers are united as One in Christ: adopted and chosen. We believe in the Lord’s power that He gives through the Holy Spirit. We believe that anyone who has faith in him will do great things in His name. We believe that the Holy Spirit transforms us into a Christ-like nature and reveals the power of Scripture so that we can mission God’s Word to others. (John 14:12; Acts 5:3-41; Ephesians 1:13-14; Corinthians 2:9-12; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 1 Corinthians 12:11).
Angelic and Demonic Behaviors
We believe in the representativeness and nature of angels. We acknowledge that good and evil exist. We believe that God created the angels to be His servants and messengers. We believe God created angels originally holy, but under the leadership of the person of Satan, some now exist in a fallen state as demons. Satan is a fallen angel who led a group of angels in rebellion against God. He is the worst enemy of God and humanity. We believe that by accepting the Lord as Savior and practicing the disciplines of the Bible one can loosen Satan and his followers grip on evil’s existence (Nehemiah 9:6; Ps. 148:2-5; Hebrews 1:14; Isaiah 14:12-17; 1 Pet. 5:8, Jude 6; Ezekiel 28:12-15).
Humanity and salvation
We believe that humanity came into existence by direct creation of God and that man and woman is made in the image and likeness of God. We believe that all humanity has inherited a sinful nature and that all sin is extremely offensive to God. We believe that we were created to praise and love the Heavenly Father, and be companionship for each other. We believe that the human race is the chosen image of God in this world on earth but due to our fallen state of mind, we needed a mediator to save us. We believe that salvation is a gift from God’s grace through faith. We believe that all who have truly acknowledged Christ as Savior are eternally secure in salvation, saved by God’s power, secured and sealed in Christ forever. We believe that good works honor salvation but is only justifiable through faith and Christ continues to give redemption from sin (Genesis 1:26-27; John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 6:23; James 2).
The body of Christ, the universal path
We believe that the body of Christ is a spiritual realm made up of all believers. As a testimony to Christ, identification with Him and in remembrance of His death and sufferings, we believe in baptism of the Holy Spirit as well as sprinkling of water baptism. Through fellowship, believers are to be taught to practice discipline and to testify concerning their faith in Christ as Savior and to honor Him by holy living (John 3:5).
Kingdom Come
We believe in the return of Christ and God’s army here on earth, in order to form His promised utopian kingdom. We believe that the believers’ spirit, soul, and body, after suffering a spiritual death, will reunite in order to be glorified forever with the Lord. We believe in the revelation and coming of Christ because it is the eternal plan of God (the Book of Revelation).
